Paris is the capital and largest city of France and has been dubbed “The City Of Lights”. As well as being one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it is renowned for its sense of romance.
Paris is located in northern France and situated on the north-bending arc of the picturesque River Seine, at the heart of the Île-de-France region. The River Seine includes two islands, the Île Saint-Louis and the larger Île de la Cité, which form the oldest part of the city and is one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe.
the city is relatively flat which makes exploring this city very easy although there are several prominent hills, Montmartre being the highest but worth the walk to see an amazing view over the whole of Paris and to view the Sacre Coeur at the top.
Paris is ranked among the three most important and influential cities in the world, and is one of the world’s leading cultural and business centres, with influences in fashion, entertainment, politics, education, media, science, and the arts all contributing to its status as one of the world’s major global cities.
Within the Paris Region there are 37 Fortune Global 500 companies in several business districts, notably La Défense which is Europe’s largest dedicated business district. There are 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and 3,800 historical monuments packed into the city and its region. The cathedral of Notre-Dame was the first center of higher-education before the creation of the University of Paris.
Paris also ranked among the ten greenest European cities in 2010.
Paris is full of grand historic landmarks and breathtaking vistas. It offers something for everyone from relaxing in a street corner cafe watching the Parisians bustling along the cobbled stoned boulevards to soaking up the romantic atmosphere only Paris can truly offer with its quiet little hideaways.
Depending on numbers partners and family are welcome to come and enjoy the sights and atmosphere of Paris while the photo tour group are out shooting, then rendezvous back at the hotel at night. Guided sightseeing tour of Paris can be arranged for partners if required. Non workshop participants “TOUR-IN-TANDEM” will be charged a lower fee.
